The head of Azerenerji OJSC Baba Rzayev met with a delegation led by the head of the Italian company Ansaldo Energia Marino Giuseppe.
According to the OJSC, the meeting was also attended by the Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Augusto Massari.
Touching upon the issue of friendship and cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan, Baba Rzayev highly appreciated the position of Italy in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Noting that Azerenerji cooperates with a number of international giant companies, Baba Rzayev said that the main purpose of the meeting was also the creation of a new modern type of electricity infrastructure in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
“In these territories, which are the historical lands of Azerbaijan, for 30 years the Armenian occupants have caused serious damage to the entire infrastructure, including power plants. Now there is almost no energy infrastructure in these territories,” Rzayev said.
The head of the OJSC brought to the attention of the guests the possibilities of cooperation on a number of projects, including the creation of a working group between the companies and Ansaldo Energia’s office in Baku.
During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on such issues as the joint implementation of small hydroelectric projects in the Kelbajar and Lachin regions to create new capacities in the liberated territories, Ansaldo Energia’s participation in the construction and equipment of high-voltage substations in the liberated territories, cooperation with Ansaldo Energia within the framework of the construction project a new power plant with a capacity of 390 MW in the BOT format for frequency regulation (in Sangachal near Baku), the use of software and new technologies to improve the management of the transmission system operator Azerenerji OJSC, the creation of a training center based on Ansaldo Energia equipment in the scientific and educational laboratory complex of JSC Azerenerji.The head of Ansaldo Energia, Marino Giuseppe, said that his country is among the leading manufacturers of high-tech equipment for power stations, which will be reconstructed at the request of Azerenerji. He highly appreciated the initiative to create Ansaldo Energia office in Baku.
