In January-July 2023, Italy imported 5.7 bcm of Azerbaijani gas
In July 2023, gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Italy via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) amounted to 807 mcm (a decrease of 12.7%).
According to the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, in January-July 2023, gas supplies from Azerbaijan amounted to 5,708 bcm (a decrease of 4% from the same period in 2022).
In January 2023, 852 mcm of gas were transported to Italy via TAP, in February – 701 mcm, in March – 898 mcm, in April – 860 mcm, in May – 806 mcm, in June – 784 mcm.
According to the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), in 2022 the EU countries – Italy, Greece and Bulgaria – imported natural gas from Azerbaijan for 15.599 billion euros (an increase of 4 times over the year). In 2022, according to the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, Azerbaijani gas imports amounted to 10.325 bcm (+43.1% of the 2021 figure). During the reporting period, Italy, according to Eurostat, imported natural gas from Azerbaijan by 13.253 billion euros (an increase of 3.9 times over the year).
