The Ministry of Economic Development of Italy announced an emergency regime after the explosion at the gas distribution hub in Austria and the cessation of Russian gas supplies. According to Snam Rete Gas, after an explosion in Baumgarten, it reduced gas receipts on the border with Austria (physically it is only Russian gas) with 113.5 million cubic meters. m to 14 million cubic meters. m per day.
Operator Gas Connect Austria Gmbh said that the transit of gas through Austria to the south and southeast (in the directions of Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia) is stopped until further notice.
In turn, Gazprom export stated that it is working on the redistribution of gas flows and “is doing everything possible to ensure the continuity of gas supplies to its customers.
The gas hub in Baumgarten annually receives about 40 billion cubic meters. m of gas from Russia and Norway.
The price of gas on the Baumgarten hub with delivery “the next day” on Tuesday opened at $ 292 per 1,000 cubic meters. m, but has already grown by 1.5 times – to $ 413, according to the data of the CEGH hub. Gas for delivery on Tuesday is already trading at more than $ 500.
