Over 10 months of 2021, Georgia increased coal production by 56.1 percent compared to the same period in 2020 – up to 123,500 tons.
This is reported by the National Statistical Office of Georgia.
During the reporting period, Georgia also increased its imports of coal by 0.04 percent compared to the same period in 2020 – up to 229,500 tons.
Coal consumption in Georgia increased by 12.3 percent compared to January – October 2020 – up to 331,300 tons.
Note that the consumption of coal in Georgia has increased due to the rise in prices for natural gas.
