Kazakhstan intends to transport from 2 million to 3 million tons of oil through Georgia in 2022, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia said.
An agreement on this was reached during yesterday’s meeting in Tbilisi between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Minister of
Economy Levan Davitashvili with a Kazakh delegation headed by special envoy of the president of the republic Yerjan Kazykhanov.
Issues of further development of trade, economic, transport and logistics ties were discussed.
The Kazakh side expressed interest in increasing the cargo turnover along the Georgian corridor. It was noted that in 2022 the republic plans to transport from 2 million to 3 million tons of oil through Georgia and further increase these volumes.
At the meeting, it was stated that the transport infrastructure of Georgia is fully prepared for the transportation of goods from Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries to Europe.
