“KazTransOil” JSC exported 287 thousand tons of oil from the port of Aktau in January, by 36% more than in the same period of 2023, the company’s press service.
The volume of oil transportation in the direction of the port of Baku from the port of Aktau has doubled to 116 thousand tons.
In the direction of the port of Makhachkala, 171 thousand tons of Kazakh oil were shipped from the port of Aktau (an increase of 11%).
In 2022, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to increase the volume of oil transportation along the Trans-Caspian corridor. In accordance with this instruction, “KazMunayGas” National Company JSC and SOCAR have concluded an agreement providing for the shipment of 1.5 million tons of raw materials per year from the “Tengiz” field to Baku for further pumping through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
