In 2023, the countries of the European Union (EU) imported record volumes of natural gas from Azerbaijan – about 492.9 thousand terajoules, the monthly report of the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat).
According to Eurostat data, Azerbaijani gas supplies to the EU increased by 2.5% compared to 2022.
The cost of gas imported from Azerbaijan to the EU countries during the reporting period is about 6.2 billion euros (a decline of 2.5 times year-on-year).
According to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in 2023, Azerbaijani gas exports increased by 5.3% compared to 2022 – to 23.8 bcm, supplies to Europe amounted to 11.8 bcm (in 2022 – about 11.4 bcm).
