Italy should diversify sources of energy resources, regardless of how supplies from Russia will be carried out in the future, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said.
“This is our goal, and we must strive to achieve it, regardless of what happens to Russian gas supplies in the foreseeable future,” Sole 24-Ore quoted him as saying. “We must, first of all, bet on a significant increase use of renewable energy sources”.
“We should also think about building up our capabilities in terms of regasification terminals, as well as about the option of doubling the capacity of the TAP gas pipeline (through which Azerbaijani gas is supplied to Europe – IF),” Draghi added.
