The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which is part of the Southern Gas Corridor, is a strategic infrastructure that delivers gas from Azerbaijan to Europe. And this gas pipeline played a very important role when Europe faced significant energy supply problems.
Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Christos Kapodistrias stated at an event dedicated to the National Day of Greece in Baku.
“For more than three years, TAP has been steadily and reliably transporting natural gas from Azerbaijan through neighboring Turkiye to Greece, Bulgaria and Italy,” the ambassador noted.
Kapodistrias recalled that since the beginning of operation, the Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline has transported more than 33.5 bcm of Azerbaijani gas to Europe. “In 2023, the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline became the third largest source of natural gas for Greece and accounted for 18% of all Greek natural gas imports.”
