Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline can be implemented faster than planned due to accelerated construction plan.
Recently, it was developed and presented by the countries participating in the project, according to the news Agency MEDIA TURKMEN ORIENT with reference to the publication Express Tribune.
Previously, the construction of TAPI was planned to be completed by 2020, but now the participating countries intend to put the transnational pipeline into operation next year. The TAPI steering Committee approved the new plan, the publication writes, citing official sources.
9 separate tenders have been organized for the construction of the pipeline. Thus, each winning company will implement the project on one of the nine sites to which the pipeline is divided. As a result, the work will be completed as soon as possible.
Also, the accelerated implementation of the project will be possible due to the refusal to install gas compressors at the initial stage. This approach is feasible due to the diameter of the pipes used for the construction of the pipeline.
The information also States that Pakistan will begin construction of its TAPI section shortly after the national financial plan of the project is approved.
