A field has been discovered on the Uzunada (Long Island) area in the Caspian region, Caspian Barrel reports with reference to the state news agency of Turkmenistan TDH (tdh.gov.tm).
Experts of the State Concern Turkmenneft as a result of drilling a very deep well with a design depth of 7,150 meters in the range of 6,689-6,695 meters produced an industrial inflow of “blue fuel”.
According to preliminary estimates, the well productivity is 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 150 tons of gas condensate per day.
In general, this confirms the huge hydrocarbon potential of the coastal zone and shallow waters of the Caspian Sea. Such a statement on the success of Turkmen oil workers was made at a meeting of the Government held on May 5.
As the President of Turkmenistan emphasized, the increase in oil and gas production and the strengthening of the industry’s raw materials supply are among the priorities of the domestic fuel and energy sector. According to him, the opening of a new perspective field in the Caspian region is another important step towards the successful implementation of Turkmenistan’s energy strategy.
