The planned overhaul at the Tengiz field has been postponed from 2020 to 2021, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev said at yesterday’s briefing
“This year it was planned to shut down the field for technological repairs, but due to the pandemic and taking into account the fact that 27 thousand people were evacuated during the pandemic, there were restrictions in some types of work. In this regard, the management of Tengizchevroil, which is developing the field, together with us, made a decision to postpone the repair work for next year,” Nogayev said.
The Minister specified that the field was to be stopped for planned repairs for 1.5 months.
Earlier, a source informed the Interfax-Kazakhstan agency about the postponement of the overhaul at Tengiz “due to problems with the entry of foreign specialists into Kazakhstan.”
