SOCAR Polymer plants plan to increase production by 15.5% in 2022, SOCAR Acting President, First Vice President of the company Rovshan Najaf said.
“In 2021, SOCAR Polymer plants produced a total of 205.2 thousand tons, which is 44% higher than in 2020. In 2022, production is projected at 237 thousand tons (an increase of 15.5% compared to 2021 – IF),” Najaf wrote on his Twitter microblog.
He also noted that SOCAR Polymer exported 175.3 thousand tons of polymer products in 2021 (an increase of 38%).
“The company’s income from export activities in 2021 amounted to $251.8 million (an increase of 152%). In 2021, SOCAR Polymer’s contribution to import substitution amounted to about $22.7 million. The positive impact on the balance of foreign trade turnover amounted to about $281 million,” Najaf said.
He also said that the top 5 buyers of SOCAR Polymer’s polymer products included: Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and China. In general, SOCAR Polymer plants are designed to produce 10 types of polypropylene and 4 types of high-density polyethylene.
