The number of Azerbaijani companies operating in Kazakhstan increased by 18.4 percent year-on-year by May 2024.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1,459 Azerbaijani companies were registered in Kazakhstan on May 1 of this year.
According to statistics, the number of Azerbaijani companies operating in the country on this date amounted to 1,172 (an increase of 18.9 percent), including 1,165 small, 5 medium and 2 large.
Among the regions of the country, the most Azerbaijani companies operate in Astana (283), Almaty (399), and Mangistau region (211). Azerbaijani companies carry out activities in such areas as wholesale and retail trade, repair of cars and motorcycles (500), construction (187), various services (117), accommodation and meals (55), manufacturing (51), transport and warehousing (44), professional, scientific and technical activities (35), real estate transactions (35), in the field of administrative and support services (29), public health and social services (24), information and communications (9).
In addition to Azerbaijan, which ranks the 6th, the top ten countries in terms of the number of companies registered in Kazakhstan in the specified period included Russia, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Germany, South Korea and Belarus.
In general, as of May 1 this year, the total number of foreign enterprises in the country reached 57,673 (an increase of 12.4 percent), of which 44,906 are operating (an increase of 11 percent). At the same time, the most companies from the Russian Federation are registered and operating – 23,498 and 19,811, respectively.
