In January 2023, the export of declared oil from Azerbaijan amounted to 2 246 118.56 tons, which is 35.9% lower than in January 2022. According to the monthly report of the State Customs Committee of the Azerbaijan Republic, the cost of export oil amounted to $1 397 747 032 (31% decline).
The share of oil in the total export structure in January 2023 amounted to 74.47% (65.81% in January 2022).
It should be noted that, in contrast to the gas data, the declared import volumes of the State Customs Committee this time almost coincided with the actual export volumes of the Ministry of Energy: 2.1 million tons.
In January 2023, 12 countries were buyers of Azerbaijani oil. Among them, Italy remains the main buyer, which accounted for 48.4% of all exports of “black gold” in January 2023.
In addition to Italy, the top 3 buyers included Israel and Germany.
