Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan Sarah Michael, Report informs.
According to the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan, the meeting focused on the ongoing successful cooperation between the ministry and the World Bank, the current status of joint projects, as well as prospects for cooperation in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The issues arising from the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the use of wind energy at sea signed between the Energy Ministry and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, were discussed to assess the potential of wind energy in the Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea. The sides expressed confidence that joint efforts will contribute to the development of green energy production in Azerbaijan and the reduction of carbon emissions.
