Oil production at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields in the first half of 2021 amounted to about 85 million barrels (11.4 million tons), thequarterly report of BP-Azerbaijan.
In January-June 2020, 91 million barrels of oil (12.3 million tons) were produced from the ACG block in total. Thus, oil production from this contract area in January-June 2021 in barrels decreased by 6.6%.
According to the report, the company in January-June 2021 reduced the cost of the ACG block development project compared to the same period in 2021 by 8.5% – to $ 1 billion 112 million. “Of this amount, operating expenses amounted to $ 266 million, capital – $ 846 million “, – noted in the company.
Average daily oil production at the block in the first half of 2021 amounted to 468 thousand barrels (498 thousand barrels in January-June 2020).
At the same time, during the specified period, the Chirag platform produced an average of 30 thousand b / d of oil (38 thousand b / d in January-June 2020), Central Azeri – 111 thousand b / d (123 thousand b / d ), Western Azeri – 118 thousand bpd (122 thousand bpd), East Azeri – 78 thousand bpd (66 thousand bpd), Deep-Water Guneshli – 88 thousand bpd. (96 thousand b/d), “Western Chirag” – 43 thousand b/d (53 thousand b/d).
As reported, in 2020, about 175 million barrels (23.6 million tons) were produced from the ACG block, the volume of production in barrels decreased by 10.3% compared to 2019.
The contract for the development of the Azeri, Chirag fields and the deep-water part of Guneshli was signed on September 20, 1994. On September 14, 2017, the contract was extended until 2050.
Under the new contract, the share of British BP (project operator) is 30.37%, SOCAR (25%), Hungarian MOL (9.57%), American ExxonMobil (6.79%), Indian ONGC (2.31%), Japanese Inpex Corp. (9.31%) and ITOCHU Oil (3.65%), Norwegian Equinor (7.27%), Turkish TPAO (5.73%).
