Russia will almost double the volume of “green” generation in three years, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
“The energy sector is also developing, which works on renewable sources. In Russia, using localized equipment, about 2.5 gigawatts of green generation have already been built. And in the next three years, we are going to more than double this figure – up to 5.4 gigawatts by 2024, to a localization level of at least 65% for wind generation and 70 for solar,” Mishustin said at a meeting with representatives of the Russian and foreign business.
The Prime Minister also commented on the global trend to reduce the carbon intensity of the economy.
“Today more than 60 countries have decided on low-carbon development. Reducing emissions is a strong incentive to restructure the economy as a whole. To the development of new technologies in industry, energy, and transport. This will require an end-to-end transformation of the entire economy,” said the Russian Prime Minister.
