In April this year, Georgia imported 7,800 tons of oil bitumen, the local Bureau of Report informs, citing Georgia’s Union of Petroleum Products Importers.
Of this, 7,300 tons or 93.6% were imported from Azerbaijan’, while 500 tons (6.4%) from Turkmenistan.
In January-April, the volume of oil products supplied to the neighboring country increased by 1.7% year-on-year to 18,100 tons. Azerbaijan provided 16,000 tons (88.4%) of this volume.
In the first four months, after Azerbaijan, the leading suppliers of oil bitumen to Georgia were Iraq (1,100 tons), Turkmenistan (500 tons), and Russia (500 tons).
