If Armenia wants to implement its plans to damage export pipelines in Azerbaijan, then the response to this will be very serious, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev

“We have issued a warning about this. European countries that will start receiving gas via the TANAP pipeline in 2021 should also warn Armenia. TANAP is not only our project, it has other shareholders. TAP has European shareholders. And these projects are extremely important for the energy security of Europe. That is why we must all be interested in avoiding damage to these pipelines,” Aliyev said in an interview with Haber Turk.

The President added that Azerbaijan has a sufficiently modern defense system to protect pipelines.
“We have a fairly modern defense system on the territory. Surveillance and checks are being carried out. Physical protection and the fact that the electronic lines are located deep protect the pipelines from air strikes,” Aliyev added.
