SOCAR-AQS started drilling a new well in the shallow part of the Guneshli field.
As the company reports, well No. 321 will be drilled from the offshore platform No. 7. The design depth of the well is 2,810 meters. Drilling will be carried out up to the Xth horizon of the Balakhany formation.
The customer of drilling the well is the production association Azneft (the oil and gas production structure of SOCAR). The field currently provides up to 65% of the entire oil production of SOCAR.
LLC SOCAR-AQS was established in 2007. Currently, its founders are Nobel Oil Services (UK) and SOCAR. The company specializes in providing drilling and well servicing services.
At present, SOCAR-AQS conducts drilling operations in the shallow part of the Guneshli field (from platforms No.11 and No.7), the Umid field (from the Umid-1 platform), Bulla (from platform No. 6) and the Western Absheron (from platform No. 20). In the near future, SOCAR-AQS should start the first exploratory drilling outside of Azerbaijan (in Bangladesh), and on land. Up to now, the company has drilled only at offshore fields.
