In January 2024, the countries of the European Union (EU) imported about 19.7 thousand tons of petroleum products from Azerbaijan, by 83 times more than in the same period of 2023.
According to the statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), in monetary terms, supplies increased 42 times, to about 11.3 million euros.
The lion’s share of imports came from Greece, to which about 18.7 thousand tons of petroleum products worth about 10.5 million euros were delivered from Azerbaijan in January.
In 2023, according to Eurostat, the EU countries increased imports of petroleum products from Azerbaijan by 17.4 times compared to 2022 – up to 306.9 thousand tons. In value terms, imports increased 12.3 times to 186.5 million euros.
