The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan has announced a tender for the development of a feasibility study within the framework of the project to create a “Green Energy Corridor” along the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania-Hungary route (Black Sea Energy).
The cost of participation in the tender is 2,500 manats.
Companies wishing to participate in the tender must submit their proposals by December 1, 2023, at 15:00. The tender procedure will take place on December 4 at 15:00.
The cost of the tender item is estimated at more than $3 million.
The winning company will have to complete the work within 80 weeks after signing the relevant agreement with the Ministry of Energy.
Applicants for participation in the tender must have at least 10 years of experience in the energy sector and work experience in at least two countries.
Bidders must have at least one completed feasibility study for laying a submarine HVDC cable.

As previously reported, on December 17, 2022, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary signed a strategic partnership agreement in Bucharest for the construction of a Black Sea Energy undersea electric cable with a capacity of 1,000 MW and a length of 1,195 km. In June 2023, it was announced that Bulgaria would also join the project. The cable will be designed to supply green electricity produced in Azerbaijan through Georgia and the Black Sea to Romania for onward transport to Hungary and the rest of Europe.
Construction of the cable will take 3-4 years.
