SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) plans to pump 160 thousand tons of oil through the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline in September. SOCAR official representative Ibrahim Ahmedov announced this.
He recalled that oil transportation via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline resumed on July 17, 2020. “From that moment until now, 170,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil have been exported via this route,” Ahmedov said.
Earlier, Ahmedov reported that in general, by the end of 2020, SOCAR plans to export 585,000 tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline.
In 2019, SOCAR exported 824.4 thousand tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline (a decrease by 36.5% compared to 2018).
As reported, SOCAR has not transported oil through the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline since January 2020. The company sent its oil volumes for export mainly via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
Azerbaijan has been transporting oil via Baku-Novorossiysk since 1997.
