Export of Uzbek Gas to China Reduced by 3 Times
Gas exports from Uzbekistan to China fell by 3 times, and to Russia – completely stopped. The Uzbek media report on the data of the press service of the president of the republic.
At the end of last week, in the videoconference mode, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with new projects in the oil and gas and chemical industries.
The President was informed that as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, an unstable situation is observed in external energy markets: in particular, at present, the export of natural gas produced in the country to China has decreased by 3 times, and to Russia has completely stopped.
It is further emphasized that in this regard, Uzbekistan is following the path of deep processing and monetization of natural gas and all raw materials in general.
Measures are being taken to increase economic efficiency through the production of import-substituting and export-oriented finished products, the press service of the head of state said.
According to official statistics, natural gas production in Uzbekistan in 2019 decreased by 1.6% – to 59.46 billion cubic meters, this year it was planned to increase it by 7.2%.
