There is a wealth of experience in energy cooperation between Russia and Italy.
This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following a meeting with the head of state of Italy Sergio Mattarella and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Giuseppe Conte in Rome.
“In 2018, our turnover increased to 27 billion US dollars,” the head of the Russian state noted.
“50 years ago, the first contract for the supply of natural gas was concluded. Russia is the largest exporter of gas to the Italian market, and in the past in 2018 our supplies to the republic reached 22.8 bcm of gas, which is about a 35% of the needs of the country’s economy,” he stressed. “Italian finance and technology are involved in the implementation of the Russian energy projects Yamal-LNG and Arktik-LNG-2, and in the construction of the Amur Gas Processing Plant. Jointly developed oil and gas fields in Russia and in third countries. I want to note that through investments goes to billions of dollars,” Putin noted.
