The National Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company is to add 1,000 kilometers of gas distribution pipelines to the national gas distribution network, the company’s CEO said.
According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hassan Montazer Torbati said the pipelines will also include compressors to come online by the end of the current calendar year to March 20 2019.
Last calendar year, the company added 1,000 km to the national gas distribution network and is expected to perform similarly this year, he added.
Iran supplies the lion’s share of its domestic demand by pumping natural gas from the supergiant South Pars Gas Field in Persian Gulf waters.
