The National Maritime Shipping Company Kazmortransflot transported 7.2 million tons of oil in January-September 2020, the press service of the company told Interfax-Kazakhstan
“According to the results of nine months of 2020, the total volume of oil transportation both in the Caspian Sea and in the open seas amounted to 7 million 210 thousand tons against 8 million 372 thousand tons in the same period in 2019,” the press service said. Thus, in January-September this year, oil transportation decreased by 14%.
The volume of oil transportation through the Black and Mediterranean Seas in the reporting period decreased by 15% – to 6 million 701 thousand tons, along the Caspian Sea – increased by 1.8%, to 509 thousand tons.
The company sent 9,811 containers via the feeder line along the Aktau – Alat – Aktau route. Feeder vessels cruising along this route began in April 2019.
At the end of 2019, Kazmortransflot transported 10 million 728 thousand tons of oil (an increase of 1.5 times over the previous year).
The sole shareholder of Kazmortransflot is National Company KazMunayGas JSC.
Kazmortransflot has 25 vessels, including five tankers (three in the Caspian and two in the Black Sea), three specialized multifunctional vessels. In addition, the support fleet for offshore operations consists of eight platform barges and four tugs.
