The initial capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor is 10 bcm a year and it could be expanded without any problems, said Marosh Shefchovich, Vice President of the European Commission for Energy Affairs, said during the Congress of Federal Energy Union of Germany (BDEW) in Berlin. Shefchovich’s speech has been published on the web site of the European Commission on Wednesday.
Shefchovich did not specify maximum capacity of expansion of the corridor and the amount of funds needed to be invested into the project.
After testing of the route and determining structure of the works, we could easily expand the Southern Gas Corridor,” Shefchovich.
