Turkey and Azerbaijan will accelerate implementation of the construction project of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), Prime Minister of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu said Dec.3.
He made the remarks at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku.
Davutoglu said that Turkey will receive Azerbaijani gas via TANAP before 2018.
Today, Turkey and Azerbaijan implement important energy projects, and TANAP is one of them, he said.
TANAP project envisages transportation of gas of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field from Georgian-Turkish border to the western borders of Turkey.
Currently, the shareholders of TANAP are: the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) – 58 percent, Botas – 30 percent and BP – 12 percent.
