Rosneft is interested in strengthening the full-scale cooperation with Turkmenistan, Rosneft head Igor Sechin said during a meeting with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the government said Dec. 25.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that one of the key directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is the development of cooperation with Russia, a strategic partner of the country.
Turkmenistan is ready to use its huge reserves for the benefit of the international economic, trade and investment cooperation, President Berdimuhamedov said.
The president confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness for the large-scale and multilateral partnership in the field of the fuel-energy complex with all concerned sides, including the major companies, financial institutions and organizations.
During the meeting the sides discussed various aspects of intensifying the Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the fuel-energy sector given the growing needs of the global market in the stable supply of energy resources, including the implementation of joint projects, the statement said.
Russia holds a leading position in the ranking of the largest foreign trade partners of Turkmenistan.
More than 190 companies with the Russian capital, implementing more than 240 investment projects, were registered in Turkmenistan.
