The second session of the Coordination Council of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) could take place in early 2016, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Natig Aliyev said at a briefing in Baku.
“Exact place and time of the second session of the Coordination Council of SGC is unknown yet. It will, possibly, take place either in Turkey, or Azerbaijan. I believe that it would have been advisable to hold the session in Baku. It is already late, if we would like to have a session in December. It will most likely take place in early 2016 to settle some organization issues,” Aliyev said.
Minister added that the course of implementation of the project and the done works will be discussed at the session.
“There are many issues for discussion. We will receive information about the state of the SGC project implementation and what works must be done. We will also discuss the problems that some countries members of the project have with the project implementation,” Aliyev added.
“There are no problems with implementation of the project in Azerbaijan and Georgia. Construction of TANAP continues according to the schedule in Turkey, there are no delays. Construction of TAP will begin in Europe in 2016. All permissions for construction have been obtained and the pipes have been ordered. I believe that we need to pay more attention to the pace of the project implementation,” he added.
