At the end of this year Turkmenistan plans to complete construction of the East-West gas pipeline, reported the Turkmenistan Ministry of Oil & Gas Industry and Mineral Resources.
The pipeline must united all big gas fields of Turkmenistan and create conditions for the Turkmen gas export to the world markets in any direction.
It was reported at the end of March 2015 that Turkmenistan has been testing the East-West export gas pipeline.
The new regional gas pipeline to be laid from Shatlyk to Belek will be needed to transport fuel from the biggest fields on the east to other gas pipelines of the country and increase volume and improve reliability of gas export as well as for the local gas supply.
The future 773-km-long gas transportation system has a carrying capacity of 30 billion cub.m. of gas a year. The main raw material for the East-West gas pipeline will be the biggest field in the country Galkynysh.
