The first three linear sections of the future biggest in Turkmenistan gas pipeline East-West is fully ready to the hydraulic tests for durability and containment, writes Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
“The new regional gas pipeline laid from Shatlyk to Belek is designed for transportation of natural gas from the biggest fields in the eastern regions to other gas pipelines of the country, increase the volume of transportation, improve reliability of the gas export and also for the interstate gas supply,” reads the article.
250 km of pipes have been laid into the trenches on these sections from Serdar to Belek and a total of over 600 km of pipes with the diameter of 1420 mm have been installed,” reads the article.
The future gas transportation system 773-km-long has a carrying capacity of 30 billion cub.m. of gas a year. According to the schedule, construction of the linear part of the strategically important gas transportation main will be completed till the end of this year.
The newspaper writes that six trusts of the state-run concern Turkmennebitgasgurlushuk take part in the construction of the East-West.
The biggest in Turkmenistan gas field Galkynysh is going to be the main source of raw material for the East-West gas pipeline.
