Gasprom company is going to create “Gasprom Russian” company to build the gas pipeline to Turkey, Sergei Kupriyanov, official representative of the gas holding told journalists.
The company will be registered in Saint Petersburg. The procedures have already started today. The company is named after the main compressor station of the gas pipeline “Russian”, Kupriyanov said.
The construction of the new gas pipeline to Turkey via the Black Sea bottom was announced during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey on December 1, 2014. The new pipeline will be built instead of the South Stream gas pipeline and Putin has announced termination of its implementation after the talks with Turkey.
Russian President said that in the current situation Russia cannot continue implementation of the South Stream project, because of the unconstructive position of the European Union. The gas pipeline had to be built through the Black Sea bottom, Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary and Slovenia to Austria and Italy.
