Yesterday Georgian Premier Iraklii Garibashvili met with SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev.
A source from the press office of the Georgian government told Trend that the meeting was devoted to the results of the company’s operations in Georgia in 2014.
In the beginning of the meeting Abdullayev has handed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s greeting to Garibashvili.
The sides have discussed the course of implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor. It has been stressed that in this project Georgia has the key role as a transit country.
Implementation of the project started in September 2014. Head of SOCAR’s representation in Georgia Mahir Mammadov and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Azer Huseyn have attended the meeting.
SOCAR Georgia company – SOCAR’s daughter company in Georgia – is the main taxpayer in the country since 2008.
