Until the end of 2014 drilling of SDC04 well as a part of the Shah Deniz Phase 2 in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea will be completed, a source from SOCAR said.
Operator of the Shah Deniz field development is BP company.
The same source said that at present depth of the well is about 6500 meters and the drilling progress is coming to the end. The target depth of the well is slightly over 6500 meters.
“Until the end of the year the drilling of the well could be completed,” said the same source. The drilling is carried out using Istiglal drilling rig.
The same source added that drilling of another well SDD-03 has started recently as a part of the Shah Deniz-2 project and the target depth of the well will be about 6500 meters.
“Drilling of the well has started just recently using the Heydar Aliyev drilling rig. The drilling rig completed SDD-02 well drilling in August 2014. SDD-03 well drilling could be completed in April-May 2014,” added the source.
The same source said that six well have been already drilled as a part of the Shah-Deniz Phase 2 project.
