Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tuesday in a meeting with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer that Iran can be a reliable energy source for Europe, IRNA reported.
“Iran enjoys a unique status in energy provision field and can therefore be a reliable energy source for Europe. We are ready to implement the network to transfer (natural) gas to Europe through Austria,” said President Rouhani.
Emphasizing will to expand Tehran’s economic relations with Vienna, the Iranian president said that Iran welcomes Austria’s cooperation in further development of its railways network, ports, and industries.
“Iran-Austria scientific and cultural relations, too, must like our relations in other fields, expand to fit the dignity of our two great nations,” said President Rouhani.
Turning to the Iran-Sextet nuclear negotiations, Rouhani emphasized that achieving a final comprehensive agreement is possible if both sides will display the required will and determination for achieving it, stressing that Iran does have such a strong will.
“The important matter for Iran is having access to peaceful nuclear technology for the development of our country,” said President Rouhani.
The Austrian president, too, in the meeting referred to the old record of the two countries’ relations, welcoming the improvement of economic, cultural and scientific relations between Austria and Iran.
“The European Union’s goal is provision of energy through diverse sources and cooperation with Iran can be fruitful for Europe,” added President Fischer.
