During 6 months, 2014 State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) was handed over 1.2 billion cub.m. of associated gas from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) bloc of offshore fields, reads BP-Azerbaijan company’s report for six months 2014.
From January to June 2013 the international consortium handed over 1.21 billion cub.m. of associated gas to the Azerbaijani side.
The report reads that during six months the consortium handed over in average 6.6 million cub.m. of associated gas to SOCAR. Although during the same period last year this index totaled 6.7 million cub.m. During quarter 1, 2014 the daily deliveries totaled 6.2 million cub.m., in quarter 2, 2014 increased up to 7 million cub.m.
Associated gas is handed over to SOCAR for free at the Sangachal terminal.

As one can see from the table, the first reduction of handing over of associated gas by the international consortium occurred in 2010 and the second one in 2013. This is connected with wide use of associated gas by the international consortium for its injection into the oil wells to maintain the bed pressure. From now on the consortium will inject more associated gas into the oil wells. Therefore, handover of this volume to Azerbaijan will gradually go down.
