In the near future SOCAR plans to launch a new production platform on the Chilov field in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea, reported SOCAR.
The company reported that the new platform, construction of which has been already completed, is designed to drill 10 production wells.
SOCAR has been currently working on the program to stabilize and increase oil production. For this purpose SOCAR has been drilling wells on the onshore and offshore fields in Azerbaijan.
From January to July 2014 SOCAR extracted 4.91 million tons of oil on the onshore and offshore fields against 4.85 million tons during the same period in 2013.
