Gasprom Drilling has been notified by the Moscow-based office of Halliburton about termination of relationships with the Russian company, reported www.neftegaz.ru.
This is the first time when Russian oilmen and service companies’ access to foreign technologies is limited, because of the sanctions.
If this week EU introduces technological sanctions against Russia, during three years oil production will decline by 26 million tons a year (5% of annual production).
Without foreign partners Russian companies cannot develop “complex” fields and work offshore.
The relationships has been terminated, because Rottenber, who owns 100% shares of Gasprom Drilling, was inserted into the list of sanctions drawn up by the US Finance Department in May 2014.
The ban is applied on any commercial deal (sale of goods and services) and any legal person, who is directly or indirectly are connected with Rottenberg.
