During February 2014 2,214,335 tons of Azerbaijani oil was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, reported SOCAR press office.
In January 2014 2,403,445 tons of Azerbaijani oil was transported via BTC.
During two months in 2014 a total of 4,617,078 tons of Azerbaijani oil was transported via BTC, down 5.9% against the same period last year.
SOCAR reported that since launching of BTC on June 4, 2006 till March 1, 2014 a total of 239,934,285 tons of oil was transported via the pipeline.
In January and February 2014 4,461,574 tons of Azerbaijani oil was shipped from the Ceyhan oil terminal. Since the BTC launching a total of 237,326,097 tons of Azerbaijani oil has been shipped from the terminal.
Reduction of the transportation of Azerbaijani oil (this is SOCAR’s profitable oil and oil of the state from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) project and condensate from the Shah Deniz field) via BTC is connected with gradual decline of production on ACG. As the Shah-Deniz Phase 2 project has been launched, the consortium’s expenses will go up, which leads to reduction of Azerbaijan’s share.
