KazTransGas JSC borrowed $700 million to complete construction of the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent gas pipeline, reported the company.
The loan was provided by the Chinese Development Bank for 15 years, reported KazTransGas press office.
The funds will be used to build 311-km-long Beineu-Bozoy section and Karaozek compressor station in Kzylorda district. Completion of construction of these objects will allow increasing carrying capacity of the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shimkent gas pipeline up to 10 billion cub.m. a year.
The main goal of the project is a full and stable supply of the southern regions of Kazakhstan with natural gas as well as gasification of the territories in Kzylorda, South Kazakhstan and Almaty districts on the south at the expense of own gas extracted on the west and transit of additional gas volumes to China via the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline.
