The French oil company Total has decided to leave the largest gas project in the Caspian Sea. This message was published by the professional edition, Energy Intelligence.
According to the publication, Total leaves the project Shah Deniz and the South Caucasus Gas Pipeline (SCP). The publication does not disclose the reason for Total’s leaving these large and challenging projects in the region.
Note that the French company, in both projects, had 10% equity.
Currently, Total with 40%, is the operator of the offshore field project Absheron, which was opened in 2011. However, its development will begin after 2020. In early December 2013, Total refused to join the project TANAP.
