Gas production in Azerbaijan in 2024 is planned at the level of 49 bcm, exports will exceed 24 bcm, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on March 2 in Algeria at the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
Azerbaijan has had observer status in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum since November 2015.
By the end of 2023, 48.5 bcm of gas were produced in Azerbaijan (+3.8% of the 2022 figure), while 23.8 bcm(+6.9%) of natural gas were exported.
According to the data of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, by the end of 2023, the export of Azerbaijani gas to Europe amounted to 11.8 bcm(+3.5%).
