By the end of 2023, Azerbaijan imported 2 332 254 040 cubic meters of gas (in 2022 – 1 016 423 600 cubic meters), special bulletin of the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the report, Azerbaijan paid $361 997 490 for the import of this volume of natural gas (in 2022 – $130 634 120).
The bulletin notes that Azerbaijan imported commercial gas from Turkmenistan, Russia and Iran in 2023.
Turkmen gas imports amounted to 1 517 332 500 cubic meters. Over the year, the import of Turkmen gas increased by 1.77 times – in 2022 it amounted to 857 066 650 cubic meters at a cost of $110 871 380.
The volume of Russian gas imports last year amounted to 800 665 750 cubic meters for $143 225 180. In 2022, these figures amounted to 93 265 800 cubic meters and $17 254 170, respectively.
In 2023, Azerbaijan imported 14 255 790 cubic meters (in 2022 – 66 091 190) of natural gas from Iran in the amount of $541 090 (in 2022 – $2 508 560).
