Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Superintendent
Contract Duration: 5 months
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the commissioning process for Steam to Power project.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for the projects.
- Oversee the testing and verification of electrical systems and components according to design specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address and resolve any issues identified during testing.
- Generate daily/weekly site commissioning reports.
- Maintain accurate records of all commissioning activities, test results, and issues encountered.
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues during the commissioning process.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to determine the cause of any failed tests or site underperformance.
- Review, update and maintain electrical drawings such as SLD, layout drawings, etc.
- Coordinates work and interfaces effectively with other craft superintendents, contractors and subcontractors, staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors to ensure that electrical components are delivered, installed, and commissioned according to specifications.
- Undertake inspection, fault finding and root cause analysis of failures and making recommendations to rectify.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in the commissioning phase and implement best practices.
- Advises senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, and other potential issues.
- Ensuring safety and health compliance in regard to electrical aspects. Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
- Ensure that all electrical systems comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in steam turbine/power plant commissioning.
- At least 5 years of experience in the specific discipline.
Skills and Abilities:
- Fluent in English
- Working with a single-line diagram SLD, layout drawings.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Subcontractor and vendor management experience.
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated history of successful leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Pro-active, ability to prioritize work and achieve desired result.
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
