Job Title: Steam Turbine Commissioning Superintendent
Contract Duration: 5 months
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop commissioning plans for steam turbine systems.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to understand the system requirements.
- Supervise and inspect the installation of steam turbines, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and construction teams to address any issues during the installation phase.
- Configure and calibrate control systems, instrumentation, and auxiliary equipment associated with steam turbines.
- Collaborate with control system engineers to ensure proper integration of the steam turbine with other plant systems.
- Conduct functional tests on the steam turbine components to verify proper operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing, working closely with the engineering team.
- Perform performance tests on steam turbines to ensure they meet specified efficiency and output requirements.
- Analyze test results and provide recommendations for adjustments or improvements.
- Implement safety protocols during the commissioning process to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate and detailed commissioning records, including test procedures, results, and any modifications made during the process.
- Generate commissioning reports summarizing the overall performance and compliance with project specifications.
- Provide training to plant operators and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of steam turbines.
- Other duties may be assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree relevant Engineering
Experience:
- Relevant experience in steam turbine/power plant projects.
- At least 5 years of experience in a specific discipline.
Skills and Abilities:
- Fluent in English.
- Extensive experience in commissioning steam turbine systems.
- In-depth knowledge of steam turbine technology, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in the power generation industry.
- Strong attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Pro-active, ability to prioritize work and achieve desired result.
- Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
