Position: DESC Engineer
8-10 years working in a design engineering, New Product Design, and operations response
Degree qualified/Technical or engineering degree.
DESC Engineer:
The DESC (Design and Evaluation Services for Clients) Engineer works in the client’s office under the direction of the client representative externally and internally to a company technical manager. Is responsible for working closely with the client to apply the appropriate design, execution and evaluation technology to benefit both the client and company by offering specific solutions to their client’s problems. The DESC is the primary liaison between the client and company , becoming the primary representative for company. He works with client on designs and evaluations. Candidate Recognition process by collecting and evaluating data, designing a recommended treatment, then evaluating and documenting the success or failure. Identify, coordinate and implement treatment or design changes for improved well performance, job performance and economics. Benchmark for continuous improvement. Conduct technical seminars, keeping the client informed of the latest technology. Become generally knowledgeable on company’s product lines outside of company. Identify, coordinate and implement additional company services and additional company product lines based on client needs. Analyze, design, develop, maintain products and assist in their commercialization – in agreement with project technical and timing objectives. Successfully undertake technical projects. Design, produce analyses, mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those. Design testing procedures and coordinate with others to perform tests. Conduct tests, document test results and develop client presentation. Provide timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues. Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other artifacts. Assign, direct and review work of technicians and provide guidance to engineers. Mentor junior engineers regarding technical matters. Continually evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce and iterate the development plans. Provide training and support to clients and field representatives. Prepare technical documentation through InTouch and in a timely fashion. Identify and keep abreast of novel technical concepts and markets. Contribute to design standards and support design re-use (best practices, etc.) – Share expertise via Eureka and SIGs and expand the informal network throughout the organization: field, research, engineering, manufacturing, other domains and clients.
– Maintain familiarity with Company technology, organization and business. Understand and provide technical solutions according to the company’s strategy.
– Complies with applicable company policies’, including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.
Essential skills:
Successfully complete required safety training (including but not limited to drugs and alcohol, electrical, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, SIPP, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving
High level of techical knowledge for cementing in offshore environment
Desirable skills:
Operational experience with different fields and technologies
– Detailed knowledge of cementing technologies for offshore
– Knowledge of the following technical simulators:
o CEMENTICS
o CemSTRESS
o Plug Advisor
