Azerbaijan will help Turkmenistan in laying an underwater pipeline
The pipe-laying company “Suleiman Vezirov” CJSC “Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company” (ASCO) is involved in laying pipelines in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
“The pipe-laying company “Suleiman Vezirov” is involved in laying pipelines at the “Lam” and “Zhdanov” oil fields (being developed by the Dubai oil and gas company Dragon Oil Plc). The vessel will lay four-inch pipelines from the LAM-B platform to the LAM-C platform and from the LAM-B platform to the LAM-28 platform. The total length of the pipelines will be 5 km,” ASCO said in a statement.
According to the company, the “Suleiman Vezirov” pipelayer has already been delivered to its destination by the supply vessels “Lyutoga” and “Om” of the Caspian Sea Oil Flotilla ASCO. It should be noted that the pipe-laying vessel “Suleiman Vezirov” with a displacement of 8,900 tons was built in the Netherlands in 1973. Its operation in the Caspian Sea began in 1975.
The pipelayer is not self-propelled, it is driven by tow trucks. Its length is 107 meters, width is 27. The vessel is capable of laying 1200 meters of pipeline per day if the weather conditions are favorable.
